Beginners Guide To CBD Vaping

Beginners Guide To CBD Vaping

There are tons of options on the market today. If you are just starting, you probably would have no idea where to even begin. You are probably hearing all sorts of terms and you are wondering how to bring it all together so you do not make a mistake. Here are a few things you want to look out for:

The first thing you should note is that not all CBD oils are compatible with vaping. What you are ideally looking for is CBD vape juice or CBD vape oil that comprises almost the same ingredients in nicotine ejuice. It should contain propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG).

PG and VG

These ingredients are important for your CBD to work with your vape device. They serve as the base that suspends the CBD. Both of them are food-grade substances. PG is a flavorless and odorless substance that delivers an intense vape and bolder flavor output from your vape juice. VG is made from vegetable oils. It has a minute flavor and delivers a thicker vape with huge clouds of vapor and additional sweetness.

Too much VG would mean that your ejuice will be too thick and this might not be good if your vaporizer has a cotton wick.

CBD vs THC

Beginners Guide To CBD Vaping

CBD is the non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis plant. THC is the psychoactive compound that is well known for delivering the “high” feeling. When looking for the right CBD vape juice, you will find products that contain more or less THC. If you are not looking for a high, stay away from products with high THC content.

THC has been said to help the body uptake CBD  so you get to benefit from CBD vape juices that contain a little bit of THC. Just make sure that it is below 0.3% so it cannot get you high.

The flavor of The Vape Juice

This has to be one of the best parts of CBD vaping, the fact that you get to enjoy all the benefits of CBD and still enjoy a variety of flavors other than the natural flavor of CBD. You can find varieties of CBD vape juice flavors that promise to give your taste buds a good treat.

Is CBD Vaping Safe?

If you are a non-smoker, then this is an interesting question for you, and vaping CBD does come with its health risks especially when consuming poor vape juice. However, the exposure to contaminants from CBD vaping is nothing compared to that of traditional forms of smoking so it is considered more palatable even for non-smokers. According to short and mid-term studies on the effects of CBD vaping on health, there were no significant side effects in smokers.

CBD itself is considered well-tolerated and gives little to no side effects. It is also non-intoxicating. Just make sure you are using products that contain little or no THC. You can find products like this at the CBDfx online store.

Is It Legal To Vape CBD?

It all depends on where you are. Let me explain:

As much as the 2018 Farm Bill removed cannabidiol (CBD) from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act, making it technically legal on the federal level for both medical and recreational purposes, this still did not make it legal in every state.

Before going ahead with CBD, it is always a good idea to check with the regulations in your state so you do not run into any legal issues along the line.

Conclusion

CBD is a great choice, there are tons of benefits that you stand to gain every time you consume it. The main question is whether or not CBD vaping is the right way to go for you. Even at that, vaping is considered one of the fastest means so if you are looking for immediate results, this may be your ideal choice. If you are already a fan of regular vaping, then this is a great way to step up the nicotine game with a more beneficial ingredient.

The Process I Follow to Make my Vape E-Juices at Home

If you have been vaping for a long time like me or even just getting started, you may have grown tired of continuously spending a lot of your hard-earned money on e-liquids.  When I started to make my vape at home, this was my main reason. With time, the idea of creating my own DIY e-juice flavors pushed me to learn e-liquid mixing deeper. If this is you as well, you just came to the right place. It is time you also learn the fun and exciting art of making your own homemade vape e-liquids.

Ingredients I use to make my vape e-liquids

The following are the main ingredients in my DIY vape e-liquid kit that I use to make my vape liquids. They include:

  • Propylene glycol (PG)
  • Vegetable glycerol (VG)
  • Vodka or distilled water
  • Flavoring
  • Nicotine liquid

Mixing supplies

I take my safety very seriously when I make my vape. I do not handle the e-liquid ingredients without having the following mixing supplies. These include:

  • Pair of gloves
  • Empty plastic bottles that have a childproof cap
  • Face shield or goggles
  • Syringes
  • Napkins or tissue papers
  • How I make my vape e-juices in 5 easy steps
  • Prepare the nicotine liquid
  • Prepare the e-juice flavors
  • Prepare base (PG and VG)
  • Mix the blend together
  • Steep

When mixing, it is important to understand that the different ingredients used to make e-liquids have different densities. Propylene glycol (PG) and flavorings are thinner at different levels whereas vegetable glycerol (VG) is thicker. Therefore, you should shake the bottle properly for the blend to mix properly.

For steeping, I do not have a single preferred way when I make my vape e-liquids. The following are some of the steeping methods I use:

Breathing: I usually rest the liquid container open. Ideal with e-juice flavors containing ethyl alcohol because the method mutes the flavors and oxidizes nicotine if you have overdone it.

Water bath: sometimes I place the liquid bottles inside a heated container of liquid. This method helps to homogenize the e-liquids. However, you need to check the temperature of the container of liquid because it can degrade nicotine and the flavoring.

Resting: sometimes I place the liquid in a cool and dark place and allow it to rest for a few days to a couple of weeks. Occasionally, I would shake the liquid so that the blend of ingredients can mix properly.

Tips to make great tasting vape e-liquids

  • Take note of every measurement and step used to make an e-juice. These ratios and amounts will come in handy when you need to replicate it.
  • Join online forums and groups about vaping and DIY recipe
  • Use flavoring created for vaping instead of food flavorings
  • Use more PG if you are after a great throat hit
  • Use more VG if you want your vapor clouds to be dense but with a mild throat hit
  • High VG e-liquids are best suited for sub-ohm vaping because they not only offer bigger clouds but need more heat from the vaporizer since VG is more viscous.
  • Always use nicotine with care and keep children and pets away from your home laboratory because some of the ingredients such as nicotine can be poisonous if swallowed.

To be honest, learning to make my vape e-juices at home was not an easy process. I went through a lot of trials and errors before I finally managed to create my first perfect mix. After that, it became easier to replicate the DIY e-juice recipes. Compared to continuously buying e-liquids, it also costs less. However, not every vaper can make their own DIY e-juice. If you are not cut out for it, I recommend that you trust and stick with experienced vape companies like Flavorah that have a host of different e-juice flavors to select from. Flavorah hosts a wide selection of concentrates. Check out some of the flavors and start making your DIY vape juices today.
